Location
The state of Veracruz is located in the central and southern regions of the curve in the Gulf of Mexico. It borders with Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, Puebla, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Tabasco.

Three important cultures lived in the region: to the north the Huasteca, in the center the Totonaca and to the south the Olmeca which, together with the Mayas, represented a vast community.

Climate
Average annual temperatures vary depending on the altitude of the area. In the costal, northern and southern gulf regions, 80% of the state, the climate is warm and humid (22-26ºC) with the lowest temperature reaching 18 ºC in winter and abundant rain during the summer.
