Climate
In the areas of Tlapacoyan, Xalapa and Orizaba the climate is semi-warm and humid (18-22ºC) and rains throughout the year. The east of the state is characterized by a temperate climate (12-18ºC) and light rain principally during summer.

The areas of Cofre del Perote and Pico de Orizaba have a cold climate (5-12ºC), dropping to 2 and 5ºC in the highest areas. In the city of Perote and to the west of the Huasteca, the climate is semi-dry and temperate (14ºC) with rains during the summer.
